Welcome to our web site. We intend to keep you up to date on the activities planned and undertaken by this humanitarian outreach organization.

The Newark Ohio Community Services Center, a non-profit organization, is manned entirely by volunteers. Our aim is to cheerfully and respectfully supply needs without regard to race, religion, or national origin in the name and through the love of Jesus, who said, ". . . as you have done it to the least of these . . . you have done it to me."

How May We Help You?

The Adventist Community Services Center in Newark, Ohio, is open every Tuesday and Thursday morning, from 9 a.m. until Noon. We are affiliated with the Food Pantry Network, and give away food to pantry clients in our district during those hours. In addition, between 9 and 11:30 a.m., we give away clothing to anyone who asks and qualifies for help, regardless of whether they are in our Food Pantry Network district. Though we never know what will be donated to us to give away, we often do have some housewares and linens, and we try very hard to serve other needs that families in the Newark/Licking County area may have.

In addition, we have opened the Carrousel Thrift Shop, where we offer used articles at below bargain-basement prices to people on fixed incomes with low budgets as well as to the general public.

Our New Horizons Community Learning Center, opened in 2011,  offers scientifically, medically, and biblically sound classes, workshops, seminars and courses including  job preparation courses, computer courses, remedial reading and math, stop-smoking clinics, nutrition on a budget classes, divorce care seminars, grief support groups, financial survival, parenting courses, tax preparation, fitness and health topics, disaster preparedness, stress management, healing the wounds of the past, and forgive to live seminars, as well as
topical and exegetical Bible studies so you can find out what the Bible really says on all sorts of subjects instead of just taking someone else's word for it. Most of our services are free, but free-will offerings are accepted from all who are willing and able to donate.

Since we are a 100% volunteer non-profit organization and since we operate solely on donations and the thrift shop proceeds, we could use your help. If you have items or cash that you would like to donate or if you have any kind of need for which no one seems to be providing an answer, please let us know. We use Biblical standards to minister to the needs of everyone we can possibly help and that includes everyone, not just Christians. It is not God's will that any should perish (Matthew 18:14; 2 Peter 3:9), and it is not our will that any should go unhelped.
